The Challenge

With 15+ years of experience, 190+ five-star reviews, and a 99% patient satisfaction, Dan Rix Physio faced a significant disconnect between their quality of service and their outdated online presence. Dan and his brother Ben approached Modal® in summer 2024 after clients reported frustration with their website. It wasn't working properly across mobile devices, preventing patients from finding information and booking appointments.

For a practice built on accessibility and excellence, this digital barrier was far from ideal for their reputation as one of Manchester's go-to physiotherapy experts whilst limiting their growth due to the lack of online bookings they were receiving.

Our Approach

This was our first partnership with a physiotherapy clinic, and we embraced the learning opportunity. Our team invested time learning the physio terminology and industry jargon to better understand the project requirements. We met with Dan and Ben to understand their business approach and their vision for an ideal patient journey. Through a UX audit, we identified specific problems in their existing website that needed addressing and took that forward to the sitemapping stage to ensure all exisiting pain points would be addresses in our final build.

In the strategic planning phase, our team mapped out the complete user journey from landing on the site to booking an appointment and arranging any follow-up appointments. We then developed a comprehensive sitemap structure reflecting their three locations, all treatment packages, the specific injuries they treated and also an area to find out more about the practice itself and the team too.

For the design, we created a clean, professional and minimalist look to match their core brand values and the aesthetic of their three physical clinics. We then carried out an accessibility audit to ensure the navigation of the site was easy for patients with pain issues, limited mobility or even those who might be visually impaired relying on screen-readers to navigate the information on the site.

On the technical side, we built what's known in the industry as a "responsive website", one that looks great and works perfectly no matter what device you're using. The content cleverly adjusts itself based on screen size, whether you're on a desktop, tablet or mobile phone. We knew this was especially important for Dan's patients, who often need to book appointments while on the go using their phones. By making the site fully responsive with improved load times, we removed potential barriers and made booking appointments as stress-free as possible, perfectly aligning with Dan and his team's approach to patient care.

The Results

Throughout the three-month project, we worked closely with the team to ensure the new website accurately reflected their approach to patient care.

The new Dan Rix Physio website now works as a digital extension of their clinical excellence. It perfectly supports their mission of helping patients lead active, pain-free lives by removing barriers to care.

The site works seamlessly across all devices, guides users to relevant treatment information, and offers a simple booking process. It effectively showcases their expertise and conveys the friendly, professional atmosphere of their clinics - mission success!

Client Satisfaction

Working with Dan, Ben, and their team was so rewarding. Their passion for patient care aligned with our values, creating a partnership that produced excellent results.

They particularly appreciated our willingness to learn about physiotherapy to ensure the website accurately represented their services. This project showed our ability to adapt to specialised industries while maintaining high design and development standards and offering a positive ROI where it matters most - booking appointments!
