Our Project Process

Honesty is our superpower! We keep you in the loop while creating websites that don't just win beauty contests, they actually drive results for your business.

Below is a step-by-step overview of our typical website design process. Although every client is unique, we use this foundational approach as a top-level guide for most of our end-to-end website development projects.

1. Project Kick-off

After the contract link has been signed and the initial 50% down payment on the invoice has been made the project will officially begin.

2. Discovery Session

If we haven’t done it already we will further scope out the brief to better understand your vision, this ensures that we deliver an end-product that meets all the business needs and user requirements.

3. Competitor Analysis

For us to gain insight into your industry we carry out thorough competitor analysis. This helps us understand what your competitors are doing well or not so well, allowing us to then build on that.

5. 3x Design Mockups

In order for us to accurately represent a design that you’re happy with we mockup 3x homepages for you to choose from. Please note: these designs are purely for visual purposes only, specific content should be ignored.

6. Content To Be Provided

As you are the expert of your industry we recommend that you provide the bulk of the copy. Depending how confident you feel with this we can offer copywriting services at an additional cost if needed.

7. Imagery sourcing

Where possible, we recommend using bespoke purpose-taken imagery. We do, however, understand this is often out of scope, so we can use our stock-image libraries where needed.

8. Full website development

At this stage we should have the sitemap, design direction and content all agreed upon. This means that the full build and coding of the new website can now begin within Webflow, WordPress, Shopify or VS Code.

9. Content Management System (CMS) Configuration

In order for our clients to easily manage their own updates, we integrate each site with a back-end CMS. This means clients can easily add, remove or edit things such as text, imagery and products.

10. Final Website Amends

Once the final build is complete, we then send it over ready for you to check and gather your final list of amends. We don’t usually expect many amends at this stage as we have already clearly defined the brief.

11. Transferring and/or Purchasing Domains (if applicable)

We recommend that you transfer any existing domains over to our registrar provider (Squarespace Domains). We also recommend that you purchase any similar versions of your domain suffix e.g. .com, .co.uk or .org.

12. Configuring Domains

Once we have the domains ready, we can then redirect them and configure the Domain Name System (DNS) settings. This means no matter which domain is visited they will all forward to the main site.

13. Google Analytics Set up

Setting up Google Analytics is key in order to analyse website traffic, activity and trends. We can then build on the data that we receive to make future improvements to the site as and when we need to.

14. Client Editor Onboarding

Just before we get ready for the official go-live date we will arrange a session to walk you through how to add, amend and remove content from your new site (should you want to).

15. Go-Live Date

Once all the amends have been completed we will then decide on an agreed go-live date. It’s the big day - your new website is live and ready to impress!

16. [Optional] Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) & PPC Ads Retainers

If required, we can then arrange an additional meeting to explain more about our SEO & Google/FB Ad retainers. This will depend on how you plan to get traffic to the site and your overarching digital strategy.

4. Sitemap sign-off

Off the back of the discovery session we will have a good idea about the structure of the site and the architecture of the pages. From this we will then create a hierarchical sitemap ready for your approval.
